Ben Phillips and Bob Gallo

The Other Guys is a musically versatile duo with lead singer Ben Phillip and master guitarist Bob Gallo.

 Ben Phillip, lead vocalist:

Ben has worked with many well-known Long Island bands and is known for his versatility in every genre, whether it's high-energy rock, or blues, soul, jazz, etc.  His diversified experience has taught him how to capture the essence of any type of song in a way that draws the listener in.  In addition to performing with bands on stage, Ben also does commercials and jingles.  He has performed in numerous community theater productions, which has given him deeper insight into the importance of the lyrics of a song. He enjoys reaching people by singing in a way that conveys the story that the lyrics are trying to tell.  Ben has shared the stage with the likes of Jimmy Rosselli, Frank Sinatra, Jr., Gloria Gaynor, Rich Little, the Platters, the Ronnettes, and others.

Having lived in Italy for several years, Ben also sings in Italian.

Bob Gallo, guitarist:

For close to 10 years, jazz/guitarist/composer Bob Gallo's playing could be heard worldwide in the incidental and theme song music in episodes of "The Cosby Show" and "It's a Different World."  For 5 years, Bob was the featured acoustic guitarist who accompanied legend Aretha Franklin on the theme song of "It's a Different World" weeknights on NBC.  His work was also heard on "Living Single," and he's done work for Nickelodean.  Bob has worked with Phylicia Rashad, Madeline Kahn, Gregory Hines, Rosie Perez, and other celebrities.  As an active studio musician, Gallo has recorded with Denise Williams' Grammy award-winning CD "This is My Song." Bob is considered by many to be one of today's foremost accomplished guitarist/composers.  He has played alongside Michael and Randy Brecker, George Whittey, Gerald Albright, Grover Washington, Jr., John Lewis, Clark Terry, Dave Valentin, Jon Faddis, Bill Cosby.  Bob has released an original CD entitled "Wake-up Call," featuring world-class musicians Boris Kozlov, Alex Sipiagin, Misha Tsiganov, and Gene Jackson.

Bob continues to pursue his songwriting when he is not performing.
